Barebone Computers
(an easy way to cheap computing)
I've had a good look for the best barebone computers on the Internet. These very basic starter desktops allow you to save money
by installing your own CPU, memory or hard drive. If you're not sure about buying barebones
systems, then read on and let me try to convince you that getting a barebones
system and installing some components yourself is nice way to learn about
computers and save some serious money.
These barebone computers require even less effort as the motherboard is already installed in the
case. Installing the motherboard is really the most tricky part and once
that is done the other components can be easily slotted in.
Ok let me show you some barebone computers .
Barebone Computer Kits: The Basics
The first thing you will want to check out is the overstock center for barebone units .
This is one of my favorite ways to get a great price on a basic starter
computer I can add to myself. You can find small sizes that are great for
use at home because they don't take up much space, and they usually have
some that are also lightweight so you can easy move it around or put it
on a table with wheels. But the best thing is, of course, the deal! This
is a great start for anyone interested in building their own computer.
Usually,
you will need to add a hard disk, CD ROM, Pentium 4 CPU and DDR RAM. You
can find some that come with sound and graphics built in or get a unit where
you can add your own cards if you want increased performance in games.
Units have all the important USB and sound connectors on the front so you
can reach them easily and some also have a firewire port for connecting
to a digital video camera. I totally recommend this type of computer. It
is great for families and adding in your own components means that you can
have a very flexible and powerful machine at a great price .
Please have a read of the "how
to" guides on this web site. They will fully explain what components
you need to buy and take you step-by-step through installing them.
Computer Sale Systems Under $100
These are the cheapest computer starter kits you will find. All of these
packages are less than $100 !
They include the motherboard installed in the case but most do not include
a CPU or memory. With some, the graphics card is built into the motherboard.
You will find these in varying speeds, and upgradeability so read the specs
carefully to be sure you get the unit you want.
You would want to buy a hard drive and CD ROM drive to complete the system.
You can get a computer that would be fine for school reports and surfing
the Internet, as well as one that is great for games.
You could upgrade the graphics for games and get a PCI 3D card but if you
are planning on playing 3D games make sure you get a powerful system you
can upgrade later.
At this price I believe it would be very hard to get a computer for less
any other way...
Going To The Top Of The Line
If
you want speed and performance, these systems just need a graphics card,
hard drive and CD ROM. These are very fast barebone computer systems that
are also totally upgradable. Fantastic for games and people who like to
have a number of applications open at once.
This is the range model I would buy because they would play games. With
a modern graphics card these barebone starter kits would have amazing game
performance. In fact some even have the same Pentium 4 CPU that I use at
home. For true performance, check out these middle to top of the line barebone
kits:
$100 to $200
$200 to $500
$500 to $999
Over $1,000!

In the end the choice is up to you. These barebone computers are great for those people who don't have any experience at putting a computer
together. You will only have to install a few simple components to get it
running.
Deals like this on barebone systems are available, ready to go, and are really just examples
of how much money you can save by doing a little computer work yourself. |
